March workshops

Additionally, on March 29, 2025, a workshop on the instruction book Contiguous Basics will take place at the MariMar Strick Café.

In this workshop, we will knit a top-down sweater together using a saddle shoulder construction.

The course is designed for advanced beginner and experienced knitters. We will go through the basics of our Contiguous Basics instruction booklet and discuss how to use it.

I will show you how to determine the right size and select the best model for your swatch. Please bring a completed, washed swatch to the workshop. Our measurements are always based on the finished, washed sweater. We will find the perfect size for your sweater. If you have a comparable favorite sweater, feel free to bring it along for comparison.

We will also cover techniques such as knitting short rows, different increase methods for the yoke, and separating the sleeve stitches from the body. Once everything is discussed, we will cast on stitches for our projects together, knit the short rows, and begin the increases.

Please bring the following to the workshop:

  • Contiguous Basics instruction booklet

  • Yarn for the sweater

  • A 10 x 10 cm swatch knitted with the chosen yarn

  • A circular needle and double-pointed needles (or Magic Loop) in the size used for the swatch

  • Stitch markers
